Box Art

During my last two years at the Academy of Arts I worked part-time at Box Art, a small design agency in Chisinau - this was my first real step into commercial design. I collaborated directly with experienced designers across multiple client projects, gaining hands-on experience in brand layout, book design and packaging. Key clients included Editura Arc, Editura Lumina and Frabox toys, where I contributed to both packaging development and the creation of the actual “paint by numbers” artwork sets. This early agency exposure gave me a strong foundation in professional design delivery and accelerated my transition from design student to working designer.

For this project I was responsible for developing the visual direction of the cover - from early concept tests through to final artwork and print production. I explored multiple colour and texture treatments based on the author’s themes, and pushed the portrait into a more expressive, graphic language to reinforce the emotional tone of the novel. Once the style was defined, I designed the full cover layout (front, spine and back), refined typography, and prepared all export assets for Editura ARC. My role also included adapting the artwork to the publisher’s print specification and making sure the final files delivered cleanly into their production workflow.
